The Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship recognizes the importance of a fair federal tax code for small businesses to help keep them competitive. The Committee supports common-sense tax legislation which encourages investment in small firms and helps small businesses with the rising cost of health care and providing retirement benefits.

The Chairman has introduced legislation that will help small businesses lower their health care costs, escape the ever-expanding trap of the alternative minimum tax, and pay reservist employees when they're deployed. Although tax legislation is considered by the Committee on Finance, the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship remains engaged in examining the impact of tax legislation on America's small businesses and self-employed entrepreneurs.
