(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Chair of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, today congratulated the SBA’s recently announced 2024 Small Business Persons of the Year Awardees, including the Granite State’s Counseling Associates, co-founded by Susan Borchert and Betsy Harrison, which provides mental health services across the state.

“I’m proud that New Hampshire’s Counseling Associates, co-founded by Susan and Betsy, was named as one of the winners—further demonstrating how small business owners can achieve their goals with help from the Small Business Administration and how years of strategic investments are empowering women to lead a historic small business boom,” said Chair Shaheen. “On top of expanding to five locations, Susan and Betsy make time to share their talents through volunteer work, helping Granite Staters of all backgrounds overcome mental health challenges. Their story serves as a good example of why we must continue to fight for funding that unleashes the potential of America’s entrepreneurs.”

The winners of the SBA’s 2024 Small Business Persons of the Year will be officially recognized in person April 28–29 during the National Small Business Week award ceremonies in Washington, D.C., where SBA will also announce one of the state or territory awardees as the 2024 National Small Business Person of the Year.
