Snowe, Kerry to Press Small Business Role in Climate Change Policy

WASHINGTON - Today Senator Olympia J. Snowe (R-Maine) and Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.) invited the heads of the Small Business Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency to testify next week before the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship about the progress that the Administration has made on implementing the small business requirements included in the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and to highlight the role small businesses can play to mitigate global warming.

The hearing, entitled “Small Business Solutions for Combating Climate Change” will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 10 a.m. Small businesses are not only developing the new clean energy technologies of the future, but they are also making a difference with their day to day business practices. The Committee will examine state and federal efforts to educate and encourage climate friendly practices and technologies in the private sector. Location: 428A Russell Senate Office Building.
