(Washington, DC) – U.S Senator David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, announced Downs Enterprise, LLC of Bastrop, La. to be Small Business of the Week, and submitted it into the official Congressional Record.

“Louisianians are well-known for their hospitality and willingness to extend a helping hand to others,” said Vitter. “In honor of Memorial Day, I am especially proud to recognize veteran Troy Downs of Downs Enterprise, LLC, for his commitment to supporting fellow small businesses, entrepreneurs, and veterans throughout Northeast Louisiana.”

Troy Downs, founder of Downs Enterprise, LLC, has been assisting small business owners through his consulting business in Northeast Louisiana for nearly fourteen years. Having spent twenty-five years in the United States Army, Downs understood the need for business management consulting services to aid our nation’s veterans. Down’s exceptional work has recently earned him the distinguished honor of being recognized as the 2015 “Veteran Small Business Champion” by Louisiana Economic Development and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

As Chairman of the Small Business Committee, Vitter is continuing the tradition of honoring local small businesses each week.
